The Stork Drilling Prospect contains 1,174.71 gross/net acres for sale in the Powder River Basin in Johnson County, Wyoming. Our acreage located in an area of the basin that was first developed in the 1960s & 1970s with deep Minnelusa/Tensleep locations identified through seismic. Starting in the 1970s, exploration started for shallower Cretaceous targets, with Trabing Field to the south in T46N R80W. Early horizontal drills at Trabing and further east in T47N R78W targeted the Niobrara and Mowry. The Niobrara at Trabing has been described by a 2019 Colorado School of Mines Thesis as having two chalky marl intervals that are good reservoir and source rocks.  More recently, EOG and Anschutz have started to develop the Niobrara and Mowry in the area, with an EOG 3/2023 2-mile well, the Dyno 0211-05H in T48N R79 having produced over 213,000 BBL of oil and almost 200,000 mcf of gas. Anschutz drilled the Steamboat 2-mile wells in T47N R78W in 7/2024. The Niobrara well has produced in 5 months over 65,000 BBL of oil and 72,000 mcf of gas; the Mowry well has produced in 5 months over 62,000 BBL of oil and 250,000 mcf of gas. Several Cretaceous sands are developed in the area and would be secondary drilling targets. Our leases expire in 2033. We are happy to provide you with any further details of the lease agreements.
